Jnana Prabodhini Prashala is a school with purpose. The school was started by a great visionary Dr. V. V. alias Appasaheb Pendse. The school began as a non formal enrichment program called prabodhshala for intellectually gifted children in 1962. After diverse experiments  in nurturance of  multifaceted intelligence a full fledged  school affiliated to Central Board of Secondary  Education, Delhi was started. 

The Philosophy of Adwaita is the fountain head of inspiration for educational activities of Jnana Prabodhini The founders of Jnana Prabodhini diagnosed the following crises  before Indian society Crisis of Character, Crisis of Confidence and Crisis of Leadership. To combat these crises Jnana Prabodhini focused on Man making education and Leadership development
